Breaking News: Explosion wounds Somali govt official in Mogadishu

Reports reaching from the Somali capital Mogadishu indicate that a huge blast in the city centre has seriously wounded the deputy of  Lower Shabelle security  Ahmed Omar Mudan.
Initial reports say that a bomb concealed in the deputy governor’s car might have gone off near the Kilometre 4 junction in the city centre, while other reports explain that a car with explosives was used for Monday’s attack which seriously wounded the regional deputy for security.
Lower Shabelle regional governor  Abdulkader Sidii confirmed that the deputy of regional security was seriously wounded in the attack. The governor was interviewed by the VOA Somali service.
Meanwhile, Somali government troops cordoned off the whole area after the explosion which rocked the Somali capital
The security forces made search operations, although no arrests have yet been reported.
Last week Al Shabaab militants threatened they will intensify attacks in the Somali capital.
The group’s representative for the Banadir region Sheik Ali Mohamed Hussein said that systematic attacks against Somali government and AU forces will be carried out.
In an interview with the group’s Al Andalus radio which operates from an unknown place in Somalia, the militant leader also accused the Turkish-built schools in Somalia of spreading what he termed as an ‘anti Islam’ ideology.
